Thank you for taking the time to visit me online! I am running for the Kansas House of Representatives because we need a strong voice in Topeka that reflects the values of our community. After recently retiring from over 35 years of service in public education, I hope I can be that voice-this time in an elected capacity. As elected officials, we must become public servants and listen to the needs of ALL Kansans.
This recession, one of the worst in Kansas history, has had a profound impact on the people of our district. When times are tough, strong leadership is needed to set priorities and make hard decisions. Our community expects a representative whose #1 priority is to remove school children, working families and older Kansans from harm's way. Unfortunately, these are not the priorities of our current representative. Instead, he cast his votes during the last legislative session based on partisan rhetoric and political gain. He must be replaced. I will be knocking on as many doors as is possible over the next weeks. I hope you will have to time to visit.
Thank you again for your interest in my campaign. I have been walking neighborhoods in western Shawnee, Bonner Springs, and in Basehor. You have all been wonderful to visit with and are genuinely interested in the future of Kansas. I am eager to continue to visit with you and discuss ways we can work together to improve this great state. I would appreciate your vote on November 2, 2010.
See you soon,
Joe
